O my this is an exciting week...I am going to not one, but two Hey Rosetta! concerts!!! I am trembling with glee, it is quite difficult to type so please forgive this unicorn any spelling errors. Tonight I am going to Call the Office here in London and then Thursday I am cantering all the way to Toronto for a show at Lee's Palace!
Some of my regular readers may remember the difficulties I encountered the last time I saw my favourite East Coast band open for Sarah Harmer, at Massey Hall. The ushers threw me out because I was a unicorn!!! It was racial profiling at its worst. Fortunately, HR! frontman Tim Baker was incredibly kind enough to apologize in my blog comments and invite me to this month's show(s).
Now, I assume he informed security (and probably had them pick me some roses! I hope so, I do love roses, especially pink ones) but just in case, I am going to the concerts...in disguise!!!!
I am giving you a preview of my disguises. I have four so that I can change mid-concert if necessary. You will of course see them if you are at the shows, but here is a sneak peek:
Pirate Arrrr, this pirate costume will appeal to the band because they live near the sea. They and their mateys will be so thrilled to look out into the audience and see a pirate in their midst that no one will recognize me as a unicorn!
Ginger from Gilligan's Island This costume includes a wig, pearls, and false eyelashes, and it is very sultry. I am a little worried about being so sexually attractive that I distract the band from their playing, but of course, that might happen with any disguise. When you have natural charisma as I do, sometimes it cannot be helped.
Ghost This costume was so simple, a pink sheet and a few holes cut and I was done! Although ghosts are traditionally white, I chose a pink sheet to minimize the chance I would appear to be a member of the KKK. I discovered this the hard way some years ago at a Stevie Wonder concert.
Pegasus Hee hee hee these wings from my "Sexy Angel" Hallowe'en costume have been repurposed here to turn me into a Pegasus! What a clever costume... |
Hee hee hee hee!!! No one will ever guess I am a unicorn in any of these costumes, it is impossible to tell.
O my, it's almost showtime, I must get dressed and practice my hoof claps. The audience always looks to us unicorns (even unicorns in disguise) for guidance on clapping, because we have perfect rhythm*.

*akin to perfect pitch, which unicorns also have! We are so musically talented, we even impress ourselves.
